State Representative Mike Coffey is taking the initiative to further understand businesses in the 95th District. The ‘Mike on Main Street‘ mission is to hear directly from businesses and workers so he can better serve their needs to improve the business climate in Illinois.
This week, Rep. Coffey met with Executive Director Kent James, from Illuminative Strategies in Springfield to learn about the company’s impact on the public sector workforce and government agencies. The roundtable meeting covered an array of topics including Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Optimization, and Organizational Change Management. The company’s mission is to cut waste and to improve organizational performance so businesses can improve their overall return on investment.
Illuminative Strategies is a leading management consultancy specializing in operational excellence and performance management. According to Kent James, the is minority-owned business was established in Springfield back in 2015 and has seen a thirty percent growth each year. Illuminative Strategies has grown to sixty employees who all reside and work in Springfield.
A few of their clients include: Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Central Management Services, Illinois Tollway, and Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
Rep. Coffey was impressed with meeting and information he learned and said this:
