Annual Illinois Farm Bureau Meeting in Chicago

It was a pleasure to join my colleagues in Chicago for the Annual Illinois Farm Bureau Meeting. Since 1916, Illinois Farm Bureau has provided education and information to help farmers, while supporting legislation and lobbying efforts about agricultural issues. 

Founded by farmers as the Illinois Agricultural Association, one of the first activities of the new organization was to bring soil and crop specialists to each county to supply farmers with the latest agricultural research information and recommendations. More than 100 years later, IFB continues to carry out its mission: To improve the economic well-being of agriculture and enrich the quality of farm family life. Rep. Coffey Speaks to Local Farmers at Board Meeting

I met with members of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau to discuss legislative updates from the General Assembly. I was happy to speak with local farmers about certain legislation that could impact their farming operations and family tradition of owning farm land. The push for a different source of energy, EV mandates and the estate tax burden all have a direct impact on farmers across Illinois.
