Coffey asks public to nominate emerging women leaders

Illinois State Representative Mike Coffey has joined with his legislative colleagues in hosting a special program on April 18 to recognize the contributions of emerging women leaders.

Coffey is asking the public to nominate women from the 95th District who are new to leadership and making a positive impact in their community to represent the district at the April program. Two nominees will be selected to participate in the Emerging Women Leaders event where up-and-coming female leaders from around the state will be gathering to share their perspectives and meet with other accomplished women.

“As lawmakers, we make decisions every day that affect women and families, so it is vital to hear their perspectives,” said Coffey. “This event is the perfect opportunity to meet women leaders making a difference in our communities, learn about issues important to them and add more women’s voices to our policy conversations.”

Nominees must live in the 95th District, which encompasses parts of Sangamon County, including portions of the City of Springfield and Villages of Chatham and Rochester as well as parts of Macon and Christian Counties.

Nominations can be made by completing the online nomination form or mailing nominee’s information to E-1 Stratton Office Building, 401 S. Spring Street, Springfield, IL 62706.  Constituents submitting nominations should include their name and contact information as well as the nominee’s name, address, phone, email, and a brief description on how the nominee is making a difference.

The deadline for nominations is March 27th.
