Coffey Files House Bill 4952
Veterans continue to play an important role in our communities long after their service, and they deserve financial relief. I filed HB 4952 earlier this year to give more property tax relief to disabled veterans. Essentially this bill ensures disabled veterans with a 60% or higher service-connected disability would pay no property taxes on their home.
This bill is important to me because I believe more veterans with service-connected disabilities should be eligible for homestead exemptions.
Expanding meaningful financial relief to Illinois veterans is a top priority of mine and I will continue working hard to improve their quality of life.

Other Ways State Representative Mike Coffey Supports Illinois Veterans
House Bill 4232: This bill will cap the majority of vehicle registration fees to $100 for veterans in Illinois. This is just one small way we can say THANK YOU to the men and women who served our country.
“Our veterans continue to give back to our communities in meaningful ways such as volunteering and community service,” said Coffey.” They participate in programs and organizations many of us don’t hear about and they deserve to be recognized, even in small ways.”
House Bill 3208 This bill requires school boards to invite recruitment representatives from the armed forces to hold recruitment events at least once a year.
“I believe every student should learn about the benefits that come from joining the military,” said Coffey. “Enlisting in the armed forces is not for everyone, but providing students with information and available options after graduating high school can help them in making a decision.”
