The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) announced the recipients of the 2026 Small Equipment Grant, which included the Midland Fire Protection District in the 95th District. State Representative Mike Coffey said first responders will benefit greatly from receiving funds to improve safety measures for all residents of Kincaid.
The Midland Fire Protection District will receive $26,000 to acquire essential tools and equipment.
“Our first responders work relentlessly to keep our communities safe, and I’m happy to see the rural Midland Fire Protection District receive support from the Illinois State Fire Marshal,” Coffey said. “This grant will help EMS workers and volunteer firefighters improve their operations with updated equipment to ensure our communities stay safe.”
