This golden year in Illinois, we celebrate an extraordinary milestone of 250 years since 1776, when the United States Declaration of Independence was adopted. The State of Illinois is home to Abraham Lincoln and beautiful landmarks that have rich history. This year marks a major moment for the whole country, and Illinois has a strong connection to American history.
