
Rep. Mike Coffey Votes Yes on “Mega Project” Bill
Springfield, IL…State Representative Mike Coffey (R-Springfield) voted yes to House Bill 910, otherwise known as the “Mega Project” bill. Coffey says he voted in favor of the legislation because it is a step in the right direction to begin a robust approach to revitalize downtown Springfield. He emphasized the importance of investing in the Capital City so businesses can thrive while growing the tax base for Springfield.

“I didn’t vote for the Chicago Bears. I voted for Springfield,” Rep. Coffey said. This is a huge win for downtown Springfield, which will help attract major economic development opportunities for our capital city. This legislation will attract investment, create jobs, and grow our local economy.”
Coffey emphasized the importance of decisions being made on a local level and says this bill will give more power to local governments to make decisions regarding economic opportunities. The bill is now moving to the Senate for further consideration.
