Coffey Supports Illinois Veterans

Rep. Coffey is a fierce advocate for our veterans in Illinois, and he works to improve their quality of life. Coffey created a Veterans Advisory Council last year to meet with veterans in the 95th District so he can hear their concerns and act on state issues that affect them and their families. He has also filed legislation that would expand recruitment events for military personnel. House Bill 3208 requires school boards to invite recruitment representatives from the armed forces to hold recruitment events at least once a year. Rep. Coffey says his bill will provide students with better understanding of our military and what to expect from serving in the Illinois and United States armed forces.

“I believe every student should learn about the benefits that come from joining the military,” Coffey said. “Enlisting in the armed forces is not for everyone, but providing students with information and available options after graduating high school can help them in making a decision.”
