Camp Butler to host Memorial Day event

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — The Department of Veterans Affairs Camp Butler National Cemetery, in collaboration with the Inter-Veterans Council of Sangamon County, will host a solemn Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 2 p.m.

The event will feature speeches, a moment of silence, a rifle volley, and the playing of Taps. Patriotic music will be provided by the Springfield Municipal Band, and the Land of Lincoln Chorus will perform the National Anthem.
