Earlier this month, I sat down with Mark Hespen from WICS to discuss the immigration crisis in Illinois and the impact it has on taxpayers. One thing I can say is that Governor Pritzker has dialed back some spending on migrants because he realizes current policy is not sustainable and is breaking the state budget. While this is true, we still have taxpayers funding services for migrants and it’s not fair to hard-working families. We must do more to protect Illinois citizens.
“I talk to folks from my district often who are working full-time and struggling to pay for healthcare while migrants are receiving free Cadillac healthcare, and it’s not fair to Illinois citizens. We need to act now and pass legislative reforms that put our citizens first.”
