Illinois rolls out first phase of plan to modernize professional licensing

The professional licensure system has been a major issue for professionals who need a professional license to work in Illinois. This fall, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) rolled out the first phase of a plan to modernize professional licensing in Illinois. State Representative Mike Coffey is looking forward to continued improvements to this system to make it easier to live and work in the Prairie State. “We have incredible people seeking professional careers in Illinois, but waiting months to obtain their license to work is depriving them from earning a paycheck. I’m glad to see IDFPR take the initiative to improve an outdated system that will help professionals get into the workforce quickly. Improving the professional licensure system in Illinois will benefit workers and our economy.”
