Rep. Coffey Attends Camp Compass Stakeholder Breakfast

I was honored to attend the Camp Compass Stakeholder Breakfast that recognizes the success and benefits of the program. Children in Springfield who attend, receive high-quality learning programs that improve their skills in math, literacy, and social engagement.

Seeing the kids in the classrooms and watching them work really explains why this program has grown to 940 students since 2013. The core values of this program is where lives change and success begins!

Camp Compass is a free, summer learning program for underserved elementary students of Springfield, Illinois District 186 Public Schools.

Camp Compass is designed to prevent summer learning loss and improve reading and math skills. Its purpose is to reduce the achievement gap and opportunity gaps that exist between low-income students and their higher-income peers. It accomplishes this purpose through a balance of academic and enrichment activities.
