The 2023 Illinois State Fair begins Aug. 10th and continues through Aug. 20th. Families across Illinois travel to Springfield to enjoy 10 days of fun! While the fair draws in thousands of visitors for entertainment, it’s also a great source of revenue for the state. In 2022, over 600,000 people attended the fair and an estimated $6 million dollars was generated from grandstand sales, attendance, and vendor sales. Not to mention, an additional $86 million dollars in business volume was added to the local economy. Additionally, jobs are created, hotels are filled, and restaurants are packed. This tax revenue is a huge boost to the surrounding communities throughout Illinois.
