State Rep. Mike Coffey Hosts Holiday Drive with Sangamon County Toys for Tots
SPRINGFIELD, IL…State Representative Mike Coffey (R-Springfield) is hosting a holiday drive to help children in the community. October 1 through December 1, new unwrapped toys will be collected at Coffey’s district office in Springfield. After collections have been received, Coffey will distribute the toys to families across Sangamon County this holiday season.
“The holiday season and Christmas are about bringing people together, giving thanks and spreading joy,” said Coffey. “A small act of kindness can have a big impact on people. Our goal is to bring joy to children and families across Sangamon County while encouraging the community to come together and give back to those who need it most.”
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was established in 1991 by the U.S. Marine Corps. The foundation raises funds, purchases toys, educates the public, and oversees the program’s daily operations. Its mission is to provide hope and joy to disadvantaged children during the Christmas holiday.
Last year, the Sangamon County Toys for Tots Holiday Drive supported over 8,000 children in the community.
